Water Polo is a dynamic, intense, and physically demanding sport that combines swimming, tactics, and teamwork in a unique water environment. At the European Aquatics Masters Championships, Water Polo represents one of the most exciting team disciplines, providing unforgettable moments of action and rivalry.

Water Polo appeared at the Olympic Games in Paris for the first time in 1900, and women first appeared as a water polo team in Sydney in 2000. Although the rules and system of the competition were often changed, water polo always attracted great interest and stormy emotions. With their success, Water Polo players became heroes of the nation, role models, and ideals for young people.

Hungary has the most successful water polo team, with 9 Olympic golds.

In Water Polo, two teams battle for supremacy in the water, using strength, speed, and tactics to score goals and defend their net.The game takes place in a two-meter deep pool, where players swim, pass the ball, attack, and defend in a fierce battle for victory. Every match is full of excitement, twists, turns, and uncertainty until the end. And the end can be after numerous extensions. That’s why Water Polo requires the highest physical fitness level, strength, stamina, mental sharpness, tactical intelligence, and, most importantly, a strong, unbreakable team spirit. Every player in water polo is equally important to the team, and if it achieves harmony through selfless cooperation, communication, and interaction, from the goalkeeper who defends the net to the striker who scores goals, can count on success.

At the European Aquatics Masters Championships in Belgrade, water polo players of different ages can show their skill, readiness, and passion for this demanding sport. Serbian water polo team “Delfini” has a long tradition of competition, dating back to 1924. In the recent history of water polo, the Serbian team has shone many times with the most brilliant awards and climbed to the highest podiums of the biggest competitions. Olympic, World, and European gold. Serbia is a country where people love water polo, and we are sure that the fan atmosphere will be unforgettable, full of excitement and a wide range of emotions.
